  1. 16. Krävande beteenden i samband med demens : förekomst och olika förhållningssätt

    Författare :Kirsti Skovdahl; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Dementia; demanding behaviour; occurrence; staff; nursing care; interactions; tactile;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis based on five studies conducted within community care sought to I) study demanding symptoms and behaviour in persons > 65 years in home care or sheltered housing and work load from a staff perspective over a decade, II) study caregiver reflections when dealing with Behavioural and Psychiatric Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD), III) illuminate interactions between individuals with BPSD and caregivers who reported problems dealing with such behaviour and caregivers who did not, IV) obtain insight into their reasoning from their respective interactions with the residents. A further aim was to discuss their reasoning in relation to each other and V) describe documented experiences from giving tactile stimulation to five randomly selected residents with BPSD and changes seen in these persons during the intervention period. 2. 17. The Molecular Mechanism of Aggression and Feeding Behaviour in Drosophila melanogaster

    Författare :Philip Goergen; Helgi Schiöth; Michael Williams; Simon Tuck; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Drosophila; aggression; obesity; homeostasis;

    Sammanfattning : Obesity is a complex disorder which has become a growing health concern. Twin studies have demonstrated a strong genetic component to the development of obesity and genome wide association studies have identified several genetic loci associated with it. However, most of these loci are still poorly understood in a functional context. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Metallic materials for solid oxide fuel cells and electrolysers - Mitigating high temperature corrosion

    Författare :Mareddy Reddy; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PVD; High-temperature corrosion; MCO coating; Interconnect; Balance of Plant; Chromium evaporation; SOFC;

    Sammanfattning : Solid oxide cells (SOCs) are high-temperature energy conversion devices that have great potential due to their high efficiency, low operating costs, and flexibility. SOCs can produce electricity from a variety of fuels as solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), and they can convert electricity to fuels as solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOECs). LÄS MER

  4. 19. Predation as a driver of reproductive isolation - from adaptive divergence to hybrid inviability

    Författare :Varpu Pärssinen; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; reproductive isolation; ecological speciation; predation; adaptive radiation; evolution; behaviour; fish;

    Sammanfattning : Natural selection can play an important role in the origin of new species. When reproductive isolation evolves as a result of ecologically-based divergent natural selection, the process is referred to as ecological speciation. In most organisms, sufficient reproductive isolation is considered to be essential for the establishment of new species. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Preventive psychosocial parental and school programmes in a general population

    Författare :Hans O. Löfgren; Bruno Hägglöf; Karin Nilsson; Mehdi Ghazinour; Solveig Petersen; Sven Bremberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Parental training program; parenting; universal prevention; parental stress; CHAT; Life-Skills; General Mental Health; Parental Sense of Competence; General Health Questionnaire; Swedish Parenthood Stress Questionnaire; Sense of Coherence; Children’s Depression Inventory; Youth Self-Report; Child and Youth Psychiatry; barn- och ungdomspsykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction Numerous preventive programmes have emerged, and need to be investigated to determine their effects on the normal population. Earlier studies have shown a decrease in depressive symptoms, positive effects on children’s disruptive behaviour problems, and an improvement in parental competence. LÄS MER
