    Sammanfattning : Tactile perception is considered an important contributor to the overall consumer experience of a product. However, what physical properties that create the specifics of tactile perception, are still not completely understood. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Getting a Feel for Tactile Space : Exploring Haptic Perception of Microtexture

    Författare :Martin Arvidsson; Birgitta Berglund; Steven Hsiao; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Haptic; fine texture perception; multidimensional scaling; tactile; roughness; vibrations; spatial; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is based on three studies that research different aspects of fine texture perception. The goal is to better understand the mechanisms involved in haptic perception of textures below 200 µm, also known as microtextures. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Tactile Grasping for Domestic Service Robots : Simulations, Experiments and Hand Design

    Författare :Johan Tegin; Jan Wikander; Rüdinger Dillman; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents methods and tools for robotic grasping. The application in mind is service robots for a home environment, although the work also has applications in other areas. Service robots must be capable of manipulation, i.e. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Knitted Circuits for Visual and Tactile Interactive Expressions

    Författare :Anna Persson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; smart textiles; interaction design; knitted circuits; interactive properties; expression diagrams; visual; tactile; Human-Technology-Design;

    Sammanfattning : As computational technology and new materials are entering the world of textiles, our view on the textile material is challenged; the areas of textile design and interaction design start to merge. Designing interactive textiles means communicating new expressional forms through textile material. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Tactile touch in intensive care : Nurses' preparation, patients' experiences and the effect on stress parameters

    Författare :Maria Henricson; Bengt Fridlund; Kerstin Segesten; Anna-Lena Berglund; Sylvia Määttä; Karlstads universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The overall aim of this thesis was to acquire knowledge about whether tactile touch as a complementary method can (i) promote comfort and (ii) reduce stress reactions during care in an intensive care unit (ICU) Method: In Paper I, five nurses with a touch therapist training were interviewed about their experiences of preparation before giving tactile touch in an ICU. To analyse the meaning of preparation as a phenomenon, Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological approach was used. LÄS MER
