  1. 1. Discovery and applications of family AA9 lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases

    Författare :Monika Tõlgo; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases; cellulose; xylan; spruce; carbohydrate active enzymes; LPMO; lignocellulolytic enzyme cocktails; lignocellulose; polysaccharides; AA9; cellulose nanocrystals; thermophilic fungi;

    Sammanfattning : Auxililary activity family 9 lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (abbreviated as AA9s or LPMO9s) are fungal mono-copper enzymes capable of oxidatively cleaving various plant cell wall oligo- and/or polysaccharides. LPMO9s are key components of lignocellulolytic enzyme cocktails used in today’s biorefineries to break down biomass into fermentable sugars. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Dissecting function and catalytic mechanism of fungal lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases

    Författare :Bing Liu; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Fungi use a complex and well-orchestrated enzyme machinery to degrade lignocellulose biomass, in which both hydrolytic and redox enzymes are involved. Lytic polysaccharide monoxygenases (LPMOs) are copper-dependent enzymes that cleave bonds in polysaccharides using oxidative mechanisms. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Structural and functional investigation of underexplored carbohydrate-active enzyme families

    Författare :Andrea Seveso; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; carbohydrate-active enzymes; lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase; plant biomass degradation; copper radical oxidases; carbohydrate esterase; protein structure determination; protein structure prediction;

    Sammanfattning : The known consequences of the current fossil-based economy require a transition towards a bio-based economy. Development of biorefineries in which plant biomass can be utilized as a renewable source of energy and building blocks to produce both commodities and high-value products, is a key step in this transition.
