11. 3-D Forming of Paper Materials
Sammanfattning : Paper materials have a long history of use as a packaging material, although traditional paper-based packaging is limited in its shape, complexity, and design. In order to better understand the deformation and failure mechanisms during 3-D forming, two experimental studies of paper materials have been conducted. LÄS MER
12. Three-dimensional guidance for Endovascular Aortic Repair
Sammanfattning : Image fusion (IF) of preoperative computed tomography (CT) with intraoperative cone-beam CT (CBCT) is a potentially powerful tool for guidance during endovascular aortic repair (EVAR). It may improve intraoperative anatomic visualization and reduce doses of radiation and contrast medium. LÄS MER
13. Geophysical vectoring of mineralized systems in northern Norrbotten
Sammanfattning : The Fennoscandian Shield as a part of a large Precambrian basement area is located in northern Europe and hosts economically important mineral deposits including base metals and precious metals. Regional geophysical data such as potential field and magnetotelluric data in combination with other geoscientific data contain information of importance for an understanding of the crustal and upper mantle structure. 14. Anisotropic mechanical behaviors and microstructural evolution of thin-walled additively manufactured metals
Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is a concept and method of a manufacturing process that builds a three-dimensional object layer-by-layer. Opposite to the conventional subtractive manufacturing, it conquers various limitations on component design freedom and raises interest in various fields, including aerospace, automotive and medical applications. 15. The effect of scale on the morphology, mechanics and transmissivity of single rock fractures
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the effect of scale on themorphology, mechanics and transmissivity of single rockfractures using both laboratory and in-situ experiments, aswell as numerical simulations. Using a laboratory 3D laserscanner, the surface topography of a large silicon-rubberfracture replica of size 1m x 1m, as well as the topography ofboth surfaces of several high-strength concrete fracturereplicas varying in size from 50mmx50mm to 200mm x 200mm, werescanned.
