1. 3-D Forming of Paper Materials
Sammanfattning : Paper materials have a long history of use as a packaging material, although traditional paper-based packaging is limited in its shape, complexity, and design. In order to better understand the deformation and failure mechanisms during 3-D forming, two experimental studies of paper materials have been conducted. LÄS MER
2. Development of Finite Element Models for 3-D Forming Processes of Paper and Paperboard
Sammanfattning : Paper materials have a long history of use in packaging products, although traditional paper-based packaging is limited in its shape and design. In order to enable more advanced paper-based packaging, various 3-D forming processes for paper materials have been studied. LÄS MER
3. Optical shape measurements using temporal phase unwrapping
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis is devoted to optical shape measurements using an analysis scheme called temporal phase unwrapping. This scheme makes it possible to determine the absolute distance from a detector (usually a camera’s CCD-detector) to an object. Two different optical methods are considered for this 3-D sensing. 4. Advances in Bone Tissue Engineering
Sammanfattning : Bone deficiencies, caused by malformations, trauma or adverse effects from medical treatments, are a clinical challenge and often associated with reduced physical function and quality of life. Autologeous bone grafts can be used to reconstruct skeletal defects, but the right size and quality of bone might not always be available and even so, donor-site morbidity might follow. LÄS MER
5. Continuum modeling of paperboard for the mechanical response of converting processes
Sammanfattning : Paperboard is a thin and lightweight material made of cellulose fibers and it is an important component in packaging material where it provides stiffness and rigidity. The scope of this work is the development of continuum models, and its numerical treatments, for simulating the processes of converting paperboard into packages. LÄS MER
