  4. 18. Palladium-catalyzed C-H functionalization of alkenes under oxidative conditions

    Sammanfattning : The unique properties of high oxidation state palladium have been used to develop new catalytic alkene C-H functionalization reactions. A Heck-type coupling based on the reactivity of palladium catalysts and diaryliodonium salts has been developed with broad synthetic scope and tolerance for functional groups that are ordinarily reactive in Pd0/PdII catalysis, for example, allylic acetates and aryl bromides.     Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the microstructural characterisation of wear resistant Al2O3 and Ti(C,N)coatings produced by chemical vapour deposition on cemented carbide cutting tools.
