  1. 36. Strategies, Methods and Tools for Solving Long-term Transmission Expansion Planning in Large-scale Power Systems

    Författare :Desta Zahlay Fitiwi; Lennart Söder; Michel Rivier; Fernando de Cuadra; Andres Ramos; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transmission expansion planning; uncertainty and variability; optimization; stochastic programming; moments technique; clustering; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Driven by a number of factors, the electric power industry is expected to undergo a paradigm shift with a considerably increased level of variable energy sources. A significant integration of such sources requires heavy transmission investments over geographically wide and large-scale networks. LÄS MER

  2. 37. Effects of Watershed Dynamics on Water Reservoir Operation Planning : Considering the Dynamic Effects of Streamflow in Hydropower Operation

    Författare :Nicholas Zmijewski; Anders Wörman; Andrea Bottacin-Busolin; Francesca Pianosi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reservoir operation; dispersion processes; wave diffusion; multi-objective operation; water resource management; discharge variability; power spectrum analysis; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Water reservoirs are used to regulate river discharge for a variety of reasons, such as flood mitigation, water availability for irrigation, municipal consumption and power production purposes. Recent efforts to increase the amount of renewable power production have seen an increase in intermittent climate-variable power production due to wind and solar power production. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : To achieve the climate goals set by the Paris Agreement, the global electricity system is expected to transition towards a low-carbon electricity system. The future low-carbon electricity system is uncertain regarding both generation and demand. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Cost optimization of maintenance scheduling for wind turbines with aging components

    Författare :Quanjiang Yu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Integer linear optimization; Age-based preventive maintenance scheduling; Renewal-reward theorem; Weibull distribution; Combinatorial optimization; Wind turbine maintenance; Virtual replacement; Condition monitoring data; Cox proportional hazards method; Linear programming;

    Sammanfattning : A major part of the wind turbine operation cost is resulted from the maintenance of its components. This thesis deals with the theory, algorithms, and applications concerning minimization of the maintenance cost of wind power turbines, using mathematical modelling to find the optimal schedules of preventive maintenance activities for multi-component systems.
