  1. 11. Development of Automated Algorithms for Epicardial Adipose Tissue Analysis in Computed Tomography and their Application in Population Based Research

    Författare :David Molnar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epicardial adipose tissue; Artificial intelligence; Automatic analysis; Computed tomography; Coronary atherosclerosis; Pre-diabetes; Vector electrocardiography;

    Sammanfattning : The epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), which surrounds the heart and is separated from other tissues only by the thin layers of the pericardium, has enjoyed intense research for the past decades. Increased inflammatory activity in the EAT in coronary artery disease has, together with associated volumetric expansion of the EAT and changes in its radiodensity supported theories that the EAT might play a role in the pathogenesis of coronary atherosclerosis or mirror its progression better than traditional risk factors. 2. 12. Tailoring visualization applications for tasks and users

    Författare :Alexander Bock; Timo Ropinski; Anders Ynnerman; Jens Krüger; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Exponential increases in available computational resources over the recent decades have fueled an information explosion in almost every scientific field. This has led to a societal change shifting from an information-poor research environment to an over-abundance of information. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Improved inspection and micrometrology of embedded structures in multi-layered ceramics : Development of optical coherence tomographic methods and tools

    Författare :Rong Su; Lars Mattsson; Peter Ekberg; Jerzy Pluciński; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Metrology; Optical Coherence Tomography; Ceramics; Embedded Structure; Multilayer; Nondestructive Testing; Optical Inspection; Critical Dimension Measurement; Infrared Imaging; Scattering; Mie Calculation; Image Processing; Monte Carlo Simulation; 测量学, 光学相干断层扫描术,陶瓷,嵌入式结构,多层,无损检测,光学检测,关键尺寸测量,红外成像,散射,Mie计算,图像处理,Monte Carlo模拟; SRA - Production; SRA - Produktion;

    Sammanfattning : Roll-to-roll manufacturing of micro components based on advanced printing, structuring and lamination of ceramic tapes is rapidly progressing. This large-scale and cost-effective manufacturing process of ceramic micro devices is however prone to hide defects within the visually opaque tape stacks. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Study of solidification and volume change in lamellar cast iron with respect to defect formation mechanisms

    Författare :Péter Svidró; Pär Jönsson; Pål Schmidt; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; lamellar cast iron; shrinkage porosity; solidification; volumetric change; dendrite coherency; inter-dendritic space;

    Sammanfattning : Lamellar cast iron is a very important technical alloy and the most used material in the casting production, and especially in the automotive industry which is the major consumer. Beside the many great properties, it is inclined to form casting defects of which some can be prevented, and some may be repaired subsequently. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Towards Personalized Models of the Cardiovascular System Using 4D Flow MRI

    Författare :Belén Casas Garcia; Tino Ebbers; Jonas Lantz; Petter Dyverfeldt; Carljohan Carlhäll; Frans van de Vosse; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Magnetic resonance imaging; 4D Flow MRI; Computational modelling; Blood flow; Hemodynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Current diagnostic tools for assessing cardiovascular disease mostly focus on measuring a given biomarker at a specific spatial location where an abnormality is suspected. However, as a result of the dynamic and complex nature of the cardiovascular system, the analysis of isolated biomarkers is generally not sufficient to characterize the pathological mechanisms behind a disease.
