26. Towards Natural Control of Artificial Limbs
Sammanfattning : The use of implantable electrodes has been long thought as the solution for a more natural control of artificial limbs, as these offer access to long-term stable and physiologically appropriate sources of control, as well as the possibility to elicit appropriate sensory feedback via neurostimulation. Although these ideas have been explored since the 1960’s, the lack of a long-term stable human-machine interface has prevented the utilization of even the simplest implanted electrodes in clinically viable limb prostheses. 28. Evaluating and optimizing surveillance and response strategies for malaria elimination in the Asia Pacific region
Sammanfattning : Malaria case investigation and reactive case detection (RACD) activities are widely implemented in low transmission settings to identify additional malaria infections and gather surveillance information, but with varying degrees of success. Challenges in conducting RACD include poor diagnostic sensitivity (particularly for low density and asymptomatic infections), knowledge gaps among those conducting RACD, financial and resource constraints, and operational and logistical difficulties. 30. Hatbrott? : homosexuella kvinnors och mäns berättelser om utsatthet för brott
Sammanfattning : During the nineties, the hate crimes concept has been used to describe victimization on the basis of group characteristics. The Swedish penal Code 29:2:7 states that crimes committed against a person due to that person's race, color, nationality, ethnicity, religious beliefs or other similar circumstances, such as a person's sexual orientation, can elicit a more severe punishment than crimes without such motives.
