Sammanfattning : During the nineties, the hate crimes concept has been used to describe victimization on the basis of group characteristics. The Swedish penal Code 29:2:7 states that crimes committed against a person due to that person's race, color, nationality, ethnicity, religious beliefs or other similar circumstances, such as a person's sexual orientation, can elicit a more severe punishment than crimes without such motives. Sammanfattning : The overarching aim of this thesis is to deepen the understanding of men’s friendships, in relation to gender, sexuality, power, masculine positions, feminisms and gender equality. The thesis draws upon in-depth interviews conducted individually and with pairs of men, between 25 and 49 years old, predominantly well-educated, white, straight and working white-collar or cultural jobs, twenty in total. Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to examine whether or not, and, if so, how Backa Theatre’s stage art contributes to the questioning of norms concerning children and young people by subversive representation of the young. The study investigates the dominant discourses of “children as citizens”, “the young gang member” and “boys and masculinity” that are staged and hybridized in the productions of Lille kung Mattias (Little King Matt) and Gangs of Gothenburg, directed by Mattias Andersson and 5boys. 4. Prejudice: The Interplay of Personality, Cognition, and Social Psychology
Sammanfattning : Three main theoretical approaches to the study of the causation of prejudice can be distinguished within psychological research. The cognitive approach suggests that prejudice is a function of cognitive processes where stereotypic information about social groups, stored in memory, is automatically activated and affects people’s judgements and behavior toward members of the target group. Sammanfattning : This dissertation examines the motif of the popular Viking in contemporary Anglophone fantasy literature, with a focus on masculinity, power, embodiment,and sexuality. The study draws on queer-theoretical perspectives on masculinity and the method of queer reading, and approaches the Viking as at once bound up with the legitimization of normative and hegemonic forms of masculinity and open to (queer) negotiations and possibilities beyond normative male masculinities.
