1. Gap Waveguide for High Frequency Microwave Application- Validation of Concept, Filter Design & Packaging Aspects
Sammanfattning : The overall goal of this thesis is to validate the low loss performance of recently evolved gap waveguide technology and to use this low loss technology for designing critical passive microwave component such as narrow band filter. Also, the exploitation of gap waveguide concept as a packaging solution for densely packed RF circuitry has been presented in this thesis. LÄS MER
2. Planar-Goubau-line components for terahertz applications
Sammanfattning : Terahertz-wave technology has a broad range of applications, including radio astronomy, telecommunications, security, medical applications, pharmaceutical quality control, and biological sensing. However, the sources, detectors, and components are less efficient at this frequency band due to parasitic effects and increased total losses, which hinder the performance of terahertz systems. 3. Some studies on metamaterial transmission lines and their applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses mostly on investigating different potential applications of meta-transmission line (TL), particularly composite right/left handed (CRLH) TL, and analyzing some new phenomena and applications of meta-TL, mostly left-handed (LH) TL. Realization principle will also be studied. LÄS MER
4. Miniaturized Hard Waveguides in Multifunction Array Antennas
Sammanfattning : Recent advances in technologies of wireless communications systems have led to an increasing desire for several antennas performing diverse functions at different frequencies to be integrated into a common radiating aperture. This gives rise to the so-called multifunction antenna, which affords the saving of scarce premium real estate and can alleviate problems arising from excessive antenna protrusions in aspects such as aerodynamics, aesthetics, and stealth capability in military applications.
