  2. 2. Computation of EMC Properties of Slots and Printed Circuit Boards

    Författare :Jan Carlsson; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; corrugations; crosstalk; FDTD; spectral domain; EFIE; chokes; Finite Difference Method; printed circuit board; transmission line network; EMC analysis; PCB; transmission line theory; radiated emission; Method of moments; MM; MoM; electric field integral equation; soft and hard surfaces; slot; radiated susceptibility;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the numerical solution of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems for electronic systems, such as radiated emission, susceptibility and crosstalk on printed circuit boards and transmission through slots. The analysis of printed circuit boards is done by using an electric field integral equation (EFIE) expressed in the frequency domain, which is solved by using the method of moments. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modelling and control of a line-commutated HVDC transmission system interacting with a VSC STATCOM

    Författare :Paulo Fischer de Toledo; Hans-Peter Nee; Gustaf Ohlsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Keywords : HVDC transmission; LCC – Line-commutated Current-source Converter; STATCOM; VSC – Voltage Source Converter; Space-Vector complex vector ; transfer-function; frequency-domain analysis; Electrical engineering; electronics and photonics; Elektroteknik; elektronik och fotonik;

    Sammanfattning : The interaction of an HVDC converter with the connected power system is of complex nature. An accurate model of the converter is required to study these interactions. The use of analytical small-signal converter models provides useful insight and understanding of the interaction of the HVDC system and the connected system components. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Transmission line theory for cable modeling: a delay-rational model based on Green's functions

    Författare :Maria De Lauretis; Sven Nordebo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industriell elektronik; Industrial Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : At present, induction motors are controlled via the so-called variable-frequency drives (VFD) that allow to control the speed for the motors. The purpose of this PhD thesis is to improve electromagnetic modeling techniques for the study of conducted electromagnetic emissions in variable-frequency drives, with the aim of enhancing their reliability in energy production plants. Författare :Kelin Jia; Rajeev Thottappillil; Hans Bängtsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electromagnetic compatibility; railway; propulsion system; shielded cable; transmission line; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation; SRA - Transport; SRA - Transport;

    Sammanfattning : The electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problem in the railway propulsion system is a significant safety issue of high concern. The problems can be caused by any part of the propulsion system as well as any combination of the sub systems. Simulation is a fast economical way to understand the system and to predict the EMC performance. LÄS MER
