26. Synthesis–Structure–Property Relationships in Li- and Mn-rich Layered Oxides
Sammanfattning : The commercialisation of Li-ion batteries over the last decade has provided additional impetus for the improvement of existing energy storage technologies. Towards this, a major portion of the global efforts includes exploratory research aimed at the development of new material chemistries. LÄS MER
27. Process and properties of continuous fibers based on cellulose nanocrystals and nanofibers
Sammanfattning : In recent years, composites made from natural fibers based on cellulose have received increasing attention since they have a low environmental impact and good mechanical properties. However, these fibers are short and discontinuous and the conventional spinning techniques used for these fibers results in continuous yarns with mechanical properties considerably lower than that of the single fibers. 28. Colloidal Synthesis and Characterisation of (a) Na0.5K0.5NbO3 Thin Films; and (b) Functionalised Gd2O3 Nanocrystals
Sammanfattning : (a) Thin films of the perovskite structured Na0.5K0.5NbO3 (NKN) have been synthesised with several different sol-gel methods. Only one method gave pure NKN phase while the other methods gave extra peaks in the x-ray diffraction patterns, indicating that other, unidentified, phases were present. LÄS MER
29. Colloidal synthesis of metal oxide nanocrystals and thin films
Sammanfattning : A main driving force behind the recent years’ immense interest in nanoscience and nanotechnology is the possibility of achieving new material properties and functionalities within, e.g., material physics, biomedicine, sensor technology, chemical catalysis, energy storing systems, and so on. 30. Processing of continuous fibers based on nanocellulose: Influence of dispersion and orientation on mechanical properties
Sammanfattning : The aim of the work was to prepare continuous bio-based fibers where nano-sized cellulose was used to improve the mechanical properties. Two different strategies were used to reach this aim, melt-spinning of thermoplastic fibers reinforced with nanocellulose and dry-spinning of cellulose nanofibers without solvent or chemicals. LÄS MER
