  1. 31. Exploring Software Resilience

    Författare :Björn Ståhl; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Software has, for better or worse, become a core component in the structured management and manipulation of vast quantitates of information, and is therefore central to many crucial services and infrastructures. However, hidden among the various benefits that the inclusion of software may bring is the potential of unwanted and unforeseen interactions, ranging from mere annoyances all the way up to full-blown catastrophes. 2. 32. A Resource-Aware Component Model for Embedded Systems

    Författare :Aneta Vulgarakis; Ivica Crnkovic; Tiziana Margaria-Steffen; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; component based software engineering; formal modeling; embedded systems; resources; analysis; behavior; component model; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Embedded systems are microprocessor-based systems that cover a large range of computer systems from ultra small computer-based devices to large systems monitoring and controlling complex processes. The particular constraints that must be met by embedded systems, such as timeliness, resource-use efficiency, short time-to-market and low cost, coupled with the increasing complexity of embedded system software, demand technologies and processes that will tackle these issues. Sammanfattning : This thesis presents new techniques for data management of run-time data objectsin component-based embedded real-time systems. These techniques enabledata to be modeled, analyzed and structured to achieve data managementduring development, maintenance and execution. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Towards Aspectual Component-Based Real-Time System Development

    Författare :Aleksandra Tešanović; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aspect-oriented software development; component-based software development; real-time systems; embedded systems; database systems; aspects; components; worst-case execution time; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing complexity of real-time systems and demands for enabling their configurability and tailorability are strong motivations for applying new software engineering principles such as aspect-oriented and component-based software development. The integration of these two techniques into real-time systems development would enable: (i) efficient system configuration from the components in the component library based on the system requirements, (ii) easy tailoring of components and/or a system for a specific application by changing the behavior (code) of the component by aspect weaving, and (iii) enhanced flexibility of the real-time and embedded software through the notion of system configurability and component tailorability. 5. 35. A Formalized Approach to Multi-View Components for Embedded Systems : Applied to Tool Integration, Run-Time Adaptivity and Architecture Exploration

    Författare :Magnus Persson; Martin Törngren; De-Jiu Chen; Werner Damm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; view; viewpoint; architecture; component; view integration; architecture exploration; component-based development; multi-view modeling; model-based design; CESAR; DySCAS; ESPRESSO;

    Sammanfattning : Development of embedded systems poses an increasing challenge fordevelopers largely due to increasing complexity. Several factors contribute tothe complexity challenge:• the number of extra-functional properties applying to embedded systems,such as resource usage, timing effects, safety. LÄS MER
