    Sammanfattning : The current thesis deals with one important branch of the physics of ultrafast processes, namely modeling of femtosecond nuclear dynamics. We suggest a new type of time resolved spectroscopy, the phase sensitive infrared-x-ray pump probe spectroscopy, which combines rich opportunities of IR laser techniques in quantum control of molecular systems with the site selectivity of x-rays.     Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to theoretical studies of the role of nuclear vibrations on nonlinear and linear absorption, pulse propagation, and resonant scattering of light. The molecular parameters needed for the simulations are obtained through suitable quantum chemical calculations, which are compared with available experimental data. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes (CTNs) are renowned for their exceptional electronic and mechanical properties. Their structure can be considered as rolling up a graphene sheet along a specific crystallographic direction, leading to a 1D confinement of the electronic wavefunction of the delocalized electrons along the perimeter of the cylindrical structure thus obtained.
