21. Inactivation of pulmonary surfactant and its prevention
Sammanfattning : Pulmonary surfactant is a lipoprotein complex coating the conducting airways down to the terminal airspaces. Its main function is to lower surface tension at the air liquid interface thus preventing alveolar collapse at end expiration. LÄS MER
22. Electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry and photoelectron spectroscopy of nanostructured metal oxides
Sammanfattning : Dye-sensitized nanostructured metal oxides are promising materials for solar energy conversion in photoelectrochemical solar cells. For nanostructured TiO2 electrodes, photocurrents were used to study the electron transport. In both steady state and time resolved measurements, the photocurrents could be described by diffusion of electrons. LÄS MER
23. All-ceramic Fixed Partial Denture. Studies on aluminum oxide- and zirconium dioxide-based
Sammanfattning : Keramiska material har länge använts inom tandvården för framställning av tandersättningar. Keramer har många goda egenskaper som gör dem särskilt lämpliga att använda i munnen. LÄS MER
24. On angiotensin II receptor type 2 receptors in the small intestine
Sammanfattning : The endocrine renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is important in the regulation of extracellular fluid volume and systemic blood pressure in strenuous conditions such as hypovolemia. Also present locally in peripheral tissues, all components of RAS are expressed and have been shown to modulate development, cell growth and inflammation. LÄS MER
25. Analysis of ginesenosides
Sammanfattning : New analytical methods were developed in order to evaluate commercial ginseng preparations and to allow studies on urinary excretion of ginsenosides in humans after consumption of ginseng preparations. An optimized alkaline procedure was developed for cleavage of the glycosidic bonds that was clearly superior to previously reported hydrolysis procedures of ginsenosides because of (a) completeness of the reaction and (b) absence of the artifacts found in acid hydrolysis.
