  1. 21. Phase Noise and Wideband Transmission in Massive MIMO

    Författare :Antonios Pitarokoilis; Erik G. Larsson; Gerhard Kramer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades the world has experienced a massive growth in the demand for wireless services. The recent popularity of hand-held devices with data exchange capabilities over wireless networks, such as smartphones and tablets, increased the wireless data traffic even further. This trend is not expected to cease in the foreseeable future. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Towards High-Throughput Phenotypic and Systemic Profiling of in vitro Growing Cell Populations using Label-Free Microscopy and Spectroscopy : Applications in Cancer Pharmacology

    Författare :Obaid Aftab; Mats Gustafsson; Neil Carragher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :label free vesicle detector; high-throughput; phase contrast microscopy; Library of Pharmacologically Active Compounds; High Content Screening; fluorometric microculture cytotoxicity assay; nuclear magnetic resonance; mass spectrometry;

    Sammanfattning : Modern techniques like automated microscopy and spectroscopy now make it possible to study quantitatively, across multiple phenotypic and molecular parameters, how cell populations are affected by different treatments and/or environmental disturbances. As the technology development at the instrument level often is ahead of the data analytical tools and the scientific questions, there is a large and growing need for computational algorithms enabling desired data analysis. 3. 23. ATLAS Pixel Detector Readout Integrated Circuits and Data Acquisition

    Författare :Veronica Wallängen; Samuel Silverstein; Sara Strandberg; Maurice Garcia-Sciveres; Jacob Wikner; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a particle collider built by CERN for testing the predictions of theories within high energy physics, thereby contributing to advancements in our understanding of physical laws. In order to improve the discovery potential of the collider, the LHC will undergo an upgrade to be able to reach luminosities of 5x1034 cm2s-1 and the increased collision rate following the upgrade facilitates the need for a new readout system for the ATLAS experiment at the LHC that meets the challenging demands on low mass, high-speed readout capability and radiation tolerance, something which is especially important for the pixel detector closest to the particle interaction point. 4. 24. Performance and Radiation Hardness of the ATLAS/SCT Detector Module

    Författare :Lars Eklund; Richard Brenner; Sijbrand de Jong; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; High Energy Physics; Tracking; Silicon Microstrip Dectector; Radiation Hardness; Electrical Performance; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; högenergifysik; High Energy Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The ATLAS experiment is a general purpose experiment being constructed at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Geneva. ATLAS is designed to exploit the full physics potential of LHC, in particular to study topics con- cerning the Higgs mechanism, Super-symmetry and CP violation. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Structural Studies Of Materials Using Time-Resolved X-ray Diffraction

    Författare :Hengameh Allaf Navirian; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; structure of bulk crystal; x-ray diffraction; phase transition; mechanical properties; microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : This work consisted of the application of X-ray diffraction methods to the study of ultrafast phenomena in various materials. Since the X-ray pulses generated from the bending magnet at the MAX II ring, where most of the experimental work was conducted, have a duration of the order of 300 ps, they can not be used directly as probe pulses in experiments where higher temporal resolution is required.
