11. Optimal Coordination of Flexible Manufacturing Systems, with Automatic Generation of Collision- and Dealock-Free Working Schedule
Sammanfattning : The ever more rapidly changing markets pose high demands on the modern industry, often making it necessary to have varied and frequently updated product portfolios. As a consequence, modern industrial systems need to be easily adaptable to different kinds of products, which makes the use of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) increasingly popular. LÄS MER
12. Optimal damping and slow sound in ducts
Sammanfattning : The thesis is dedicated to expanding knowledge on two duct acoustic issues including: 1) the optimal damping of low frequency sound and 2) the development and application of ‘slow sound’.To address the first issue, the ‘Cremer impedance’ proposed more than half a century ago has been revisited and further developed. 13. Reconstruction of velocity data using adjoint optimization
Sammanfattning : In many application areas there is a growing interest in data assimilation or data reconstruction. Data assimilation is a process for integrating observed or measured data into a physical model. LÄS MER
14. Prenatal Tisse Velocity Imaging of the Heart : A new approach to assess fetal myocardial function
Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis has been to evaluate color‐coded tissue velocity imaging (TVI) as an approach to developing a new, non‐invasive assessment method for fetal myocardial function. Such a method could hypothetically give early indications of fetal pathology, as myocardial dysfunction is often the consequence when the circulation tries to adapt to deteriorating situations. 15. Fuel Optimal Powertrain Control for Heavy Trucks Utilizing Look Ahead
Sammanfattning : The road topography in highways affects the powertrain control of a heavy truck substantially since the engine power is low in relation to the vehicle weight. In large road gradients constant speed is not possible to keep, which would have been beneficial otherwise, and in some uphills shifting gears becomes inevitable. LÄS MER
