  1. 11. AURALIZATION, PERCEPTION AND DETECTION OF TYRE–ROAD NOISE

    Författare :Alice Hoffmann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Perception; Psychoacoustics; Rolling Noise; Traffic Detection; Reaction Time; Auralization; Tyre Road Noise;

    Sammanfattning : Due to improvements in combustion engines and electric engines for cars, tyre noise has become the prominent noise source at low and medium speeds. Models exist that simulate the noise produced by a rolling tyre, as do models that auralize specific traffic situations from a basic data set. LÄS MER

  2. 12. CPU Resource Management and Noise Filtering for PID Control

    Författare :Vanessa Romero Segovia; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; resource management; embedded systems; real-time systems; multimedia; multicore; measurement noise; filtering; trade-offs; robustness; performance; SDU; noise gain; PID control;

    Sammanfattning : The first part of the thesis deals with adaptive CPU resource management for multicore platforms. The work was done as a part of the resource manager component of the adaptive resource management framework implemented in the European ACTORS project. The framework dynamically allocates CPU resources for the applications. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Phase Noise in Communication Systems--Modeling, Compensation, and Performance Analysis

    Författare :M Reza Khanzadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multiple antennas; distributed oscillators.; colored phase noise; free-running oscillator; Bayesian Cramér-Rao bound; Oscillator phase noise; phase noise model; channel capacity; mean square error; capacity achieving distribution; Wiener process; extended Kalman filter smoother; maximum a posteriori estimator; phase-locked loop;

    Sammanfattning : The continuous increase in demand for higher data rates due to applications with massive number of users motivates the design of faster and more spectrum efficient communication systems. In theory, the current communication systems must be able to operate close to Shannon capacity bounds. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Noise emissions from sustainable transport : A multi-scale modeling approach

    Författare :Johan Nygren; Susann Boij; Romain Rumpler; Ciarán J. O'Reilly; Eoin King; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traffic simulation; sustainable transport; environmental noise; vehicle acoustics; energy efficiency; Trafiksimulering; hållbar transport; samhällsbuller; fordonsakustik; energieffektivitet; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Noise emissions from transportation remain one of the greatest environmental issues of modern day. Inhabitants in urban environments are especially exposed, with almost 80 million people in the European Union exposed to noise levels exceeding the recommended limits set by the World Health Organization (WHO). 5. 15. Investigation and Optimization of the Acoustic Performance of Exhaust Systems

    Författare :Sara Elsaadany; Mats Åbom; Ray Kirby; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Exhaust systems; noise; pressure drop; 1D models; perforated mufflers; after treatment devices; optimization;

    Sammanfattning : There is a strong competition among automotive manufacturers to reduce the radiated noise levels. One important source is the engine exhaust where the main noise control strategy is by using efficient mufflers. LÄS MER
