6. Cementation of cyanidation tailings – effects on the release of As, Cu, Ni and Zn
Sammanfattning : Knowledge about mineralogy and chemical composition in sulfidic tailings is essential to predict how tailings management may affect the future leachate quality. At a gold mine in the north of Sweden, gold was extracted from inclusions in arsenopyrite and pyrrhotite by the use of cyanide. LÄS MER
7. The relation between microstructure and mechanical properties of cobalt- and nickel-rich Co-Ti-C and Ni-Ti-C alloys
Sammanfattning : Age-hardening processes up to l000°c which might be important in the binder phase of the Co-Ti-C and Ni-Ti-Chard metal systems have been studied mainly by high voltage electron microscopy, (HVEM), optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) as well as by micro-and macrohardness measurements and tensile testing at room and elevated temperatures (500°-800°). In addition, the allotropic transformation of cobalt has been followed by X-ray diffraction in order to permit a more complete interpretation of the changes in microstructure reflected in the mechanical testing. 8. Iron Carbonyl Clusters as Proton Reduction Catalysts
Sammanfattning : Abstract – The mixed-valence triiron complexes [Fe3(CO)7-x(PPh3)x(µ-edt)2] (x = 0, 1, 2; edt = SCH2CH2S) and [Fe3(CO)5(κ2-diphosphine)(µ-edt)2] (diphosphine = dppv, dppe, dppb, dppn) have been prepared and structurally characterized. In comparison to the diiron complex [Fe2(CO)6(µ-edt)], [Fe3(CO)7(µ-edt)2] catalyzes proton reduction at 0. LÄS MER
9. Monoglyceride Lipase and Hormone-Sensitive Lipase - Molecular and structural aspects
Sammanfattning : Triglycerides in the adipocyte are hydrolysed by means of three consecutive reactions through the combined action of two lipases: hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) and monoglyceride lipase (MGL). HSL catalyses the first and rate-limiting step, i.e. LÄS MER
10. Materials Science of Multilayer X-ray Mirrors
Sammanfattning : This thesis treats the reflective and structural properties of multilayer structures. Soft X-ray multilayer mirrors intended as near-normal incidence reflective optics and polarizers in the water window (λ=2.4-4.4 nm) are the main focus. LÄS MER
