  1. 1. Cellular Interactions with Extracellular Matrix During Development and in Muscle Disease

    Författare :Carl-Fredrik Tiger; Anders Aspberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; integrin; laminin; collagen; muscle; tendon; skeleton; mouse; human; development; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : The formation and maintenance of tissues in multicellular animals are crucially dependent on cellular interactions with the extracellular matrix (ECM). Two different studies on such interactions are presented herein. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Blood Flow in Human Skeletal Muscle : The Effect of Adrenaline and the Influence of a Small Muscle Injury

    Författare :Torbjörn Vedung; Jan Henriksson; Jan Lundvall; Södersjukhuset Karolinska Institutet. Dept of Hand Surgery Dept of Physiology and Pharmacology; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adrenaline; blood flow; blood redistribution; ischemia; muscle injury; skeletal muscle; strain-gauge plethysmography; sympathetic tone; transmural pressure; 99mTechnetium clearance; tennis elbow; venous compliance; venous occlusion plethysmography; 133Xenon clearance; adrenaline;

    Sammanfattning : A variety of vasoregulatory systems are involved in the complex control of blood flow inhuman skeletal muscle. The interaction between these systems where one system canoverride or modify the other makes blood flow regulation complicated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Satellite cells in human skeletal muscle : molecular identification quantification and function

    Författare :Mona Lindström; Lars-Eric Thornell; Hannu Kalimo; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; satellite cell markers; NCAM; Pax7; MyoD; myogenin; DLK1 FA1; c-Met; human skeletal muscle; immunohistochemistry; muscle growth; muscle hypertrophy; Morphology; cell biology; pathology; Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi; anatomi; Human Anatomy;

    Sammanfattning : Skeletal muscle satellite cells located between the plasma membrane and the basal lamina of muscle fibres, could for many years, only be studied in situ by electron microscopy. The introduction of immunohistochemistry and the discovery of molecular markers of satellite cells then made them accessible for light microscopic studies and a wealth of information is today available. 4. 4. Muscle cell integrins in vitro and in vivo : Identification and characterisation of a novel integrin, α11β1

    Författare :Teet Velling; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; integrins; α7 integrin; α11 integrin; embryonic development; muscle; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Integrins are heterodimeric receptors composed of non-covalently associated αand β subunits which have distinct functions on different cell types. α7β1integrin is an important laminin receptor in skeletal muscle. The mRNA andprotein expression patterns of α7A and α7B splice variants during mousedevelopment were studied. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Forkhead Genes in Mammalian Development

    Författare :Henrik Landgren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Development; Forkhead;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns aspects of Forkhead gene biology and it’s relation to mammalian development. Genes from three subclasses are discussed, Foxj3, Foxf1 and f2, and Foxe3. LÄS MER
