  1. 36. Enabling Solutions for Integration and Interconnectivity in Millimeter-wave and Terahertz Systems

    Författare :Ahmed Adel Hassona; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Integration; Interconnects; Waveguide transitions; Embedded Wafer Level Ball Grid Array eWLB ; Electromagnetic band-gap EBG ; Millimeter waves; Packaging; Terahertz; Monolithicmicrowave integrated circuit MMIC ;

    Sammanfattning : Recently, Terahertz (THz) systems have witnessed increasing attention due to the continuous need for high data rate transmission which is mainly driven by next-generation telecommunication and imaging systems. In that regard, the THz range emerged as a potential domain suitable for realizing such systems by providing a wide bandwidth capable of achieving and meeting the market requirements. LÄS MER

  2. 37. Millimeter-wave Transceiver ICs for Ultrahigh Data Rate Communications Using Advanced III-V and Silicon Technologies

  3. 38. On millimeter and submillimeter wave focal plane arrays implemented with MEMS waveguide switches

    Författare :Henrik Frid; Joachim Oberhammer; Vessen Vassilev; Mikro- och nanosystemteknik KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Extended Hemispherical Lens; Beam Steering; Focal Plane Array FPA ; Ray-Tracing; RF MEMS; waveguide switch; micromachined waveguide; submillimeter-wave; rectangular waveguide; terahertz; lenses; antenna theory; silicon; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents research towards enabling micromachined millimeter and submillimeter wave focal plane arrays (FPAs). The FPAs operate under the following principle: a switch network consisting of microelectromechanical (MEMS) switches, integrated with micromachined waveguides, is used to feed an array of antenna elements, located in the focal plane of a high-gain quasi-optical system.
