    Sammanfattning : Introduction: For patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM), the only treatment with a possibility for long-term survival and cure is radical resection. The majority of patients are at the time of diagnosis not assessed as resectable because they have advanced disease in the liver or unresectable extrahepatic disease or are too frail to withstand liver surgery.     Sammanfattning : Post-transplant malignancies cause significant morbidity and mortality. In this thesis we investigated malignancies in renal transplanted patients from a clinical viewpoint.     Sammanfattning : In this work we rst study the non-Newtonian effects on the inertial instabilities in shear flows and second the inertial suspensions of finite size rigid particles by means of numerical simulations.In the first part, both inelastic (Carreau) and elastic models (Oldroyd-B and FENE-P) have been employed to examine the main features of the non-Newtonian fluids in several congurations; flow past a circular cylinder, in a lid-driven cavity and in a channel.
