31. Recycling of Steel Grinding Swarf via Production of Iron Chloride Coagulants for Water Treatment
Sammanfattning : Grinding swarf is a hazardous waste generated in the manufacturing industry when making products out of iron and steel. Annually 10-12 million tons are generated worldwide, and these numbers are projected to grow with steel production and industrialization of developing countries. LÄS MER
32. Thermodynamic Modelling of Electrolyte Solutions with Application to the Pulp and Paper Industry
Sammanfattning : A thermodynamic model for electrolyte solutions has been derived for binary and multicomponent solutions up to very high molalities. The model was extensively tested on 163 binary aqueous electrolyte systems up to very high molalities, and the results show that the model represents mean ionic activity coefficients and osmotic coefficients very accurately. 33. Development and Applications of some Radioanalytical Procedures: Analysis of β- and α-Emitting Radionuclides Using Radiometric and ICP-MS Detection Methods
Sammanfattning : Analyses of radionuclides are important in environmental monitoring and in research. However, as in the analysis of many other species, interferences may be a problem. In a-spectrometric detection, 238Pu interferes with 241Am, owing to their similar decay energies. LÄS MER
34. Management of ship-generated waste - illustrated from the Baltic Sea perspective
Sammanfattning : Globally around one-third of food produced for human consumption is wasted or lost. Although the food waste issues on land are being widely discussed, the food waste generated on ships seems not to receive similar attention. LÄS MER
35. Cadmium Distribution and Speciation by Synchrotron Radiation Induced X-Ray Microprobe Techniques Application to Municipal Solid Waste and Biomass Fly Ashes
Sammanfattning : During the last few years, alternative fuels, such as wood and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), are increasingly being used in Sweden for heat and power production. The positive environmental impact in terms of low sulphur emissions, no net emission of CO2 to the atmosphere, and local availability are main driving forces in this development. LÄS MER
