6. Materials science of magnetron sputtered fullerene-like carbon nitride thin films
Sammanfattning : Carbon nitride (CNx) is a promising compound thin film material for a variety of applications. The nano-structured fullerene-like allotrope in particular exhibits outstanding mechanical proper ties. such as extreme elasticity and toughness. due to a unique microstructure of curved and crosslinked basal planes. 7. Thermal Degradation and Adhesion Studies of Ethylene Copolymers
Sammanfattning : The thermal stability of ethylene(vinyl acetate) (EVA), ethylene(n-butyl acrylate) (EBA), ethylene(vinyl trimethoxy silane) (EVS) and ethylene(vinyl trimetoxy, butylacrylate) (EVSBA) copolymers have been mapped out in this study. The different ester groups', i.e. LÄS MER
8. Fullerene-like carbon nitride thin solid films
Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is to establish synthesis-structure-property- performance relations for nano structured carbon nitride thin solid films. This material consists of bent and frequently intersecting nitrogen-containing graphite basal planes, where nitrogen plays an important role for the initiation of inter-planar cross-links and the induction of curvature via pentagon formation, much like in Buckminster Fullerenes - hence, the terminology "fullerene-like carbon nitride". 9. Molecular Imaging of Diabetic Kidney Tissue and Binding Studies of Proinsulin C-peptide
Sammanfattning : Diabetic kidney disease is a serious complication of diabetes with a complex and incompletely understood pathology. In this work, the molecular changes in diabetic rat kidneys at a very early disease stage were studied using nanospray desorption electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry imaging. LÄS MER
10. Surface Engineering of Cellulose Nanofibers for Advanced Biocomposites
Sammanfattning : Nanocellulose, originated from cellulose, the primary structural component of the cell walls of plants, has garnered significant attention for its excellent mechanical, optical, and barrier properties, as well as its renewable and sustainable nature. Various forms of nanocellulose, including cellulose nanocrystals and cellulose nanofibers (CNFs), are produced by breaking down lignocellulosic fibers into nanoscale dimensions, typically through mechanical or chemical processes.
