16. Durability of District Heating Pipes
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on mechanical loads and moisture related problems with a potential to critically harm the functionality of pre-insulated district heating pipes and pipe joints. Directly buried pipeline bends are investigated with respect to limiting deformations from a thermally induced lateral displacement. LÄS MER
17. Effect of Stress Relief Annealing: Part Distortion, Mechanical Properties, and Microstructure of Additively Manufactured Austenitic Stainless Steel
Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) processes may introduce large residual stresses in the as-built part, in particular the laser powder bed fusion process (L-PBF). The residual stress state is an inherent consequence of the heterogeneous heating and subsequent cooling during the process. LÄS MER
18. Turbulent transport in tokamak plasmas: linear-, quasi- and non-linear simulations
Sammanfattning : An attractive energy source is nuclear fusion with its abundance of fuel, intrinsic safety and limited environmental impact. Although the concept of fusion energy was established in the 1920s, to develop fusion as an energy source has been challenging. LÄS MER
19. Additive Manufacturing of Ni-Fe Superalloys : Exploring the Alloying Envelope and the Impact of Process on Mechanical Properties
Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing of metals has received a lot of attention in the last decade as this family of manufacturing processes allows the manufacturing of complicated geometries which would be difficult to produce using conventional manufacturing techniques. Additive manufacturing of the Ni-Fe based superalloys 625 and 718 using the Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB) process is facilitated by the fact that these alloys were developed as weldable alternatives to other high-strength, high-temperature Ni-based superalloys. 20. Simulation-based feedback control of welding processes
Sammanfattning : Fusion welding for joining of metals is an important manufacturing process widely used in industry, and very appreciated for its usefulness. This thesis presents a strategy dealing with the problem of designing feedback control for robotised welding. LÄS MER
