  1. 36. Influence of thermal mass on the heating and cooling demands of a building unit

    Författare :Fredrik Ståhl; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal mass; environmental impact; thermal comfort; heat storage; life cycle; building energy use; earth tube heat exchanger; comfort interval; heavy or light buildings; building structure;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this work is to find to what extent the thermal properties of the building materials, the allowed indoor temperature swing, determined by the comfort interval, and, to some extent, the ventilation strategy can affect the heating and cooling demand of a building. It is well known that a thermally heavy building, that is a building with a high heat capacity, often demands less energy for heating and cooling and have a more stabile indoor temperature due to heat storage in the building structure. 2. 37. Thermo-physical properties of CO2 mixtures and their impacts on cryogenic carbon capture processes

    Författare :Yuting Tan; Per Alvfors; Lars Nord; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CO2 conditioning; CO2 transport; CO2 storage; CO2 mixtures; CO2 cryogenic; heat exchanger; compressor; property impact; viscosity; thermal conductivity; property model; Koldioxidkonditionering; transport koldioxid; koldioxidlagring; koldioxidblandningar; kryogenisk process; värmeväxlare; kompressor; tillståndsstorheters påverkan; viskositet; värmekonduktivitet; tillstånds-storhets¬modell; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one of the most promising technologies that may significantly reduce CO2 emissions. A better understanding of the thermo-physical properties of CO2 mixtures is required for the design and operation of different CCS processes. LÄS MER

  3. 38. Engine Thermal Management in Heavy Duty Vehicles

    Författare :Arne Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Control Simulation; Heat Exchangers; Heat Transfer; Thermal Management; Turbomachinery;

    Sammanfattning : Future regulations on noise and exhaust emissions have a large impact on heavy duty engine installations. Cooled EGR is used for NOx abatement. Better sealed engine encapsulations are used to meet new noise regulations. Engine thermal management is therefore becoming an increasingly important discipline. LÄS MER

  4. 39. Techno-economic evaluation of integrated lignocellulosic ethanol production

    Författare :Elisabeth Joelsson; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; distillers dried grain with solubles; biorefinery; modelling; Aspen Plus; biogas; logging residues; spruce; wheat straw; wheat grain; heat; integration; pinch analysis; techno-economic evaluation; first generation; second generation; Ethanol; Lignocellulosic material;

    Sammanfattning : Sweden has claimed that it wants to have a fossil-free vehicle fleet in 2030 as a milestone of its ambitious goal for 2050 to be a country with a sustainable and resource-efficient energy supply without any net GHG emissions. Production of bioethanol from plant materials is one potential method of meeting this goal. LÄS MER

  5. 40. District Cooling – Towards Improved Substation Performance

    Författare :Maria Jangsten; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; control strategy; heat exchanger; district cooling; HVAC; operational data; energy transfer station; substation; low delta-T; high temperature district cooling;

    Sammanfattning : The global cooling demand in buildings is rapidly increasing and to supply this demand, district cooling is one solution. However, many district cooling systems suffer from low delta-Ts (receiving low return temperatures from the buildings connected to the system). LÄS MER
