1. Two-Level Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm for Risk-Based Life Cycle Cost Analysis
Sammanfattning : Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the fields in science and engineering and encompasses a wide variety of subfields, ranging from general areas (learning and perception) to specific topics, such as mathematical theorems. AI and, specifically, multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGAs) for risk-based life cycle cost (LCC) analysis should be performed to estimate the optimal replacement time of tunnel fan systems, with a view towards reducing the ownership cost and the risk cost and increasing company profitability from an economic point of view. 3. Mathematical modeling of electromagnetic disturbances in railway system
Sammanfattning : By introduction of modern electronics into railway system, new challenges in understanding the electric and electromagnetic behavior of these systems arise. In this thesis, electromagnetic modeling of electric networks above dielectric and perfect electrically conducting surfaces are studied. LÄS MER
4. Automation of Load Haul Dump machines : comparative performance analysis and maintenance modeling
Sammanfattning : The Load Haul Dump (LHD) machine and its operating environment create a complex system. Mine productivity depends on the operation of the LHDs and on the mining environment, including fragmentation, size of boulders, navigation techniques etc. Traditional navigation techniques require a lot of infrastructure to accommodate automatic operation. 5. Railway Infrastructure Robustness : Attributes, evaluation, assurance and improvement
Sammanfattning : According to the European program Horizon 2020, multifaceted challenges in transportinfrastructure include 1) making infrastructure more resilient to keep pace with the increasing mobility needs; 2) reducing the impact of infrastructure on the environment;and 3) dealing with declining resources to maintain and upgrade transport infrastructure. New design and maintenance approaches must be developed to handle these issues, ascurrent methods are inadequate. LÄS MER
