31. Osteoporosis, balance and nutrition in elderly women in primary care
Sammanfattning : Objective: Some people get skeletal fractures as a result of a trauma which wouldn’t cause a fracture in a healthy individual. These fractures are sometimes referred to as “fragility fractures”. Common sites for fragility fractures are the spine, hip, upper arm, shoulder, distal forearm and pelvis. LÄS MER
32. Post-polio syndrome : physiotherapeutic analysis and interventions
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents four studies focusing on outcomes of gait performance using gait analysis and/or the Six-minute-walk test (6MWT), in patients with post-polio syndrome (PPS). Further, resistance training in combination with Coenzyme Q10 (Q10) and intravenous immunoglobulin treatment (IvIg) in PPS patients was evaluated. LÄS MER
33. Generation and Optimization of Motor Behaviors in Real and Simulated Robots
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the problems of generating and optimizing motor behaviors for both simulated and real, physical robots have been investigated, using the paradigms of evolutionary robotics and behavior-based robotics. Specifically, three main topics have been considered: (1) On-line evolutionary optimization of hand-coded gaits for real, physical bipedal robots. LÄS MER
34. Fear of falling, falls and near falls in Parkinson’s disease
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACTAIM: The overall aim of this longitudinal PhD project was to gain increased knowledge about factors associated with fear of falling (FOF) falls and near falls, as well as to contribute to improved clinical fall prediction for peoplewith mild Parkinson’s disease (PD).METHODS: People diagnosed with PD and receiving care at the university hospital outpatient neurology clinic were assessed during the “on” phase using a broad range of rating scales and clinical tests targeting balance and gait problems as well as motor and non-motor symptoms. 35. Wearable Pedobarography System for Monitoring of Walk Related Parameters
Sammanfattning : Health care costs have increased over the last decades due to an ageing population. Therefore, research in personal health monitoring (PHM) has increased in response to this. LÄS MER
