21. Modelling of cyclic and viscous behaviour of pearlitic steels. Application to tread braked railway wheels
Sammanfattning : Railway wheel and rail materials are subjected to very high stresses and, in some cases, also elevated temperatures. The rolling contact loading results in a multiaxial stress state with a combination of compression and shear. LÄS MER
22. Towards enhanced mechanical braking systems for trains. Thermomechanical capacity of wheel treads at stop braking
Sammanfattning : Modern trains are equipped with different braking systems, between which the braking effort can be distributed. Among these, tread braking is still the most common system for friction braking. Tread brake systems are cheap and robust. LÄS MER
23. Modelling of cyclic and viscous behaviour of thermomechanically loaded pearlitic steels; Application to tread braked railway wheels
Sammanfattning : In service, railway wheel and rail materials are subjected to high stresses and, in some cases, elevated temperatures. The high stresses are caused by the rolling contact between wheel and rail. Furthermore, heat generated from tread braking and/or sliding between wheel and rail gives additional stress due to constrained thermal expansion. LÄS MER
24. Wave Energy Converters : An experimental approach to onshore testing, deployments and offshore monitoring
Sammanfattning : The wave energy converter (WEC) concept developed at Uppsala University consists of a point absorbing buoy, directly connected to a permanent magnet linear generator. Since 2006, over a dozen full scale WECs have been deployed at the Lysekil Research Site, on the west coast of Sweden. LÄS MER
25. Surface Engineering Approach to Frictional Optimization
Sammanfattning : Reducing emissions is a top priority within heavy duty diesel engine development and research. The power cylinder system is a main contributor to emissions and accounts for about 50% of the total frictional losses found in the engine, so is important to optimize. LÄS MER
