1. World oil supply in the 21st century : A bottom-up perspective
Sammanfattning : Oil-fuelled progress was a defining feature of the 20th century, and still today, oil remains the world’s largest primary energy source. Yet, oil is a non-renewable and carbon-intensive resource, either depletion or resulting carbon emissions will ultimately limit its use. LÄS MER
2. World oil supply and unconventional resources : Bottom-up perspectives on tight oil production
Sammanfattning : Oil is the world’s largest primary energy source. It dominates the transportation sector which underpins the world economy. Yet, oil is a nonrenewable resource, destined not to last forever. In the mid-2000s global conventional oil production stagnated, leading to rising oil prices and fears of permanent oil scarcity. 3. Particulate Emissions Associated with Diesel Engine Oil Consumption
Sammanfattning : Particulate emissions from diesel engines have been a key issue for diesel engine developers in recent decades. Their work has succeeded in reducing the exhaust particles from the combustion of fuel, which has led to increasing interest in the contribution of particulates from lubrication oil. LÄS MER
4. Energy consumption transition : final household energy consumption in the case of Sweden 1920-2010
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis examines households’ final energy consumption over the long run by measuring their final energy use and examining how structural, institutional and economic factors affected the demand for energy in the residential sector during the period 1920-2010, a period covering the transition from traditional to fossil to renewable energy carriers. I believe that wider understanding of the historical energy transition and energy consumption within the residential sector might help us gain important insights into the long-run development and the factors affecting energy consumption among the households. 5. Oil consumption and Friction in a Piston Ring-Cylinder Liner assembly.-A multifunctional Surface Approach
Sammanfattning : About a half of the frictional losses in an internal combustion engine come from the interactions between the piston assembly and cylinder liner surface. The tribological considerations in the contact between the piston ring and cylinder liner have attracted much attention over the past few decades. LÄS MER
