  1. 16. Geometry linking the art of building and the Universe: Geometric patterns on shells and grid shells

    Författare :Emil Adiels; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Form finding; Differential Geometry; Conceptual design; Geometry; Shell; Engineering; Masonry; Craftsmanship; Grid shell; Architecture; Structural design;

    Sammanfattning : Geometry links the art of building and the physics of space-time. Mathematical breakthroughs in geometry have led to new ways of designing our structures and our ability to visualise and describe the world, phenomena in nature and the universe. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Lighting Design in Computerised Offices

    Författare :Annika Kronqvist; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the design of the artificially lighted environment in computerised offices. Its aim is to describe which kind of lighting solution is best suited to accommodate VDT-based tasks, and whether or not working in front of a VDT affects visual comfort and well-being. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Lucky People Forecast : a systemic futures perspective on fashion and sustainability

    Författare :Mathilda Tham; Richard Kimbell; Kate Fletcher; Emma Dewberry; Kay Stables; University of London Goldsmiths; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Lucky people; Fashion; Sustainability; Futures; Systems thinking; Change; Metadesign; Design; Design;

    Sammanfattning : The detrimental environmental effects associated with fashion production and consumption are increasingly recognised, and strategies in place. However, these are production-focused, top-down strategies, which do not reach where the impact is highest - the user phase, or where the scope for improvement is utmost - the design phase. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Changeability as a quality in textile design

    Författare :Riikka Talman; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : The tendency to wear out and change is inherent in most materials, but – aside from a few exceptions – has been considered to be undesirable by both the industry and consumers. The work presented in this licentiate thesis suggests that, due to change in some form being an inherent property of textiles, it may be viable to look for alternative ways of designing and perceiving textiles that accept change as one of their qualities. 5. 20. On the Textility of Smell in Spatial Design

    Författare :Jyoti Kapur; Jo-Anne Bichard; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : The ocular-centric approach predominant in the field of design, particularly textile and spatial design, focuses on visual aesthetics and visually mediated interactions. Whereas the non-visual materialities of a space, such as smells, are ignored in the design process, meaning that interior spaces with homogenously odourless environments lack interactions with the olfactory.
