16. Characterization of dye-sensitized solar cells : Components for environmentally friendly photovoltaics
Sammanfattning : As fossil fuels, the major source of energy used today, create the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide which causes global warming, alternative energy sources are necessary in the future. There is a need for different types of renewable energy sources such as hydropower, windpower, wave- power and photovoltaics since different parts of the world have different possibilities. LÄS MER
17. Characterization of a Voltammetric Electronic Tongue
Sammanfattning : Electronic tongues were developed some ten years ago. These systems consist of an array of nonspecific sensors and a signal processing unit. The sensor signals are processed by pattern recognition methods which makes possible the extraction of specific properties from the sample. LÄS MER
18. Experimental Characterization of Electrodes and Multi-Scale Modeling of Swelling Induced Stresses in Lithium-ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : Over the last few decades, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries have been extensively used in portable instruments due to their high energy density and low self-discharge rate. Recently, lithium-ion batteries have emerged as the most promising candidate for electric vehicles and stationary energy storage. LÄS MER
19. Magnetotransport characterization of epitaxial graphene on SiC
Sammanfattning : Low-temperature magnetotransport is used to characterize graphene grown epitaxially on the silicon face of 4H silicon carbide (SiC/G). Observation of half-integer quantum Hall effect (QHE) in large Hall bars, patterned across several terraces of the SiC substrate, suggest that monolayer graphene grows continuously over defects. 20. Electrochemical Reactions in Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells
Sammanfattning : The polymer electrolyte fuel cell converts the chemical energy in a fuel, e.g. hydrogen or methanol, and oxygen into electrical energy. The high efficiency and the possibility to use fuel from renewable sources make them attractive as energy converters in future sustainable energy systems. LÄS MER
