  1. 26. Co-Combustion of Municipal Solid Waste and Animal Waste : Experiment and Simulation Studies

    Författare :Farzad Moradian; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Resursåtervinning; Resource Recovery; Resursåtervinning;

    Sammanfattning : Co-combustion of animal carcasses and slaughterhouse waste products (animal waste), which are classed as high-risk infectious waste, has been considered as a “fuel opportunity” for waste-to-energy boilers. In this study, the impact of co-combustion of animal waste with municipal solid waste (MSW) on operational issues such as bed agglomeration, deposit formation and emission was investigated, employing experimental and theoretical methods. 2. 27. Experimental studies of ash transformation processes in combustion of phosphorus-rich biomass fuels

    Författare :Alejandro Grimm; Britt-Marie Steenari; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is a summary of eight papers dealing with experimental studies on bed agglomeration, slag formation, formation of deposits and fine particulate matter during combustion of phosphorus-rich biomass fuels. The experimental procedures were performed in a bubbling fluidized bed (5 kW), two fixed bed appliances (20 and 15 kW) and in a powder burner (150 kW). LÄS MER

  3. 28. Lignocellulosic residues for bioenergy : effects of storage, fuel design, and combustion characteristics

    Författare :Marjan Bozaghian; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Utilization of lignocellulosic residues for bioenergy raises storage, handling, and combustion challenges. The ash-forming elements in biomass may cause ash-related problems during combustion, such as slagging, fouling, corrosion, or bed agglomeration. Most of these problems are linked to ash-chemical reactions involving alkali. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Effect of fuel composition and combustion conditions on phosphorus behavior during combustion of biomass

    Författare :Joel Falk; Marcus Öhman; Anita Petterson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Due to concerns for climate change and future supply of phosphorus fertilizer within agriculture, there has been an increased interest in the combustion of phosphorus containing waste residues and opportunity biomass fuels. Previous research has shown that during combustion, phosphorus has large impact on ash transformation reactions and may decrease or increase ash-related problems such as slag formation and bed agglomeration. 5. 30. Experimental studies of ash transformation processes in thermochemical conversion of P-rich biomass and sludge

    Författare :Gustav Häggström; Marcus Öhman; Rainer Backman; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ash transformation; phosphorus recovery; sewage sludge; chicken manure; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The efficient use of resources and sustainable recovery of various materials are important to minimize the anthropogenic impact on the climate and environment. One such resource is the phosphorus present in manure and sewage sludge. LÄS MER
