11. PFB Air Gasification of Biomass, Investigation of Product Formation and Problematic Issues Related to Ammonia, Tar and Alkali
Sammanfattning : Fluidised bed thermal gasification of biomass is an effective route that results in 100 % conversion of the fuel. In contrast to chemical, enzymatic or anaerobic methods of biomass treatment, the thermal conversion leaves no contaminated residue after the process. LÄS MER
12. Some aspects of non-metallic inclusions during vacuum degassing in ladle treatment : with emphasize on liquid CaO-Al2O3 inclusions
Sammanfattning : The present thesis was to study non-metallic inclusions during vacuum degassing in ladle treatment. Emphasize was mostly given to liquid CaO-Al2O3 inclusions. A series of industrial experiments were carried out at Uddeholm Tooling AB, Hagfors, Sweden. To gain an insight into the industrial findings, laboratory investigations were also performed. LÄS MER

14. The effect of surface morphology on bed particle layer characteristics in fluidized bed combustion and gasification of woody biomass
Sammanfattning : A critical process phenomenon in fluidized bed combustion and gasification is the bed particle layer formation which might be problematic in cases where it instigates bed agglomeration and bed material deposition or could improve the process performance in cases where it has a positive effect on tar reduction in biomass gasification. The interactions between ash forming matter for a wide variety of wood-derived fuels with different types of bed materials in fluidized bed combustion and gasification have been profusely studied, and the underlying mechanism of bed particle layer formation has been suggested. 15. Characterisation of Fuels and Fly Ashes from Co-Combustion of Biofuels and Waste Fuels in a Fluidised Bed Boiler. A Phosphorus and Alkali Perspective
Sammanfattning : In the efforts to create sustainable production of heat and power and to reduce the net CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, alternative fuels are today being utilised. These fuels are, for example, biofuels and waste derived fuels such as different residues from the agricultural sector and the pulp and paper industry, municipal sewage sludge and municipal sorted solid waste.
