11. Electronic structure of clean and adsorbate-covered InAs surfaces
Sammanfattning : This thesis is the result of investigations regarding the processes in InAs III-V semiconductor surfaces induced by additional charge incorporated by adsorbates. The aim of the project is to study the development of the accumulation layer on the metal/InAs(111)A/B surfaces and its electronic structure. LÄS MER

13. Thin Mn silicide and germanide layers studied by photoemission and STM
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis concerns experimental studies of thin manganese silicide and germanide layers, grown by solid phase epitaxy on the Si(111)7×7 and the Ge(111)c(2×8) surfaces, respectively. The atomic and electronic structures, as well as growth modes of the epitaxial Mn-Si and Mn-Ge layers, were investigated by low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES), core-level spectroscopy (CLS), and scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM and STS). 14. Scanning tunneling microscopy and photoemission studies of Ag films on metal/semiconductor surfaces
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis has been focused on the study of thin Ag films, grown on metal-reconstructed Si(111) and Ge(111) surfaces. The films have been grown at room temperature, and the morphologiesand electronic structures of the films have been investigated using scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/STS), low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) and angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy(ARPES). 15. Photoemission Studies of the M/Si(111)-3x1 Reconstructions for M=Li, Na, K, and Ag
Sammanfattning : The work reported here relates to a class of reconstructions on the Si(111) surface with 3?1 or 6?1 periodicity that are believed to be similar for Ag, Mg and the alkali metals (Li, K, and Na). The electronic structure of this reconstruction was studied by means of angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy of the valence bands of the Ag/Si(111)-3?1/6?1 reconstruction. LÄS MER
