  1. 6. Design and optimization of parallel haptic devices : Design methodology and experimental evaluation

    Författare :Suleman Khan; Kjell Andersson; Jan Wikander; Ölvander Johan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Medical simulation; 6-DOF haptic devices; design methodology.; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The simulation of surgical procedures, in the case of hard tissues such as bone or teeth milling, using a haptic milling surgery simulator requires a haptic device which can provide high stiffness and transparency. To mimic a real milling process of hard tissue, such as for example creating a narrow channel or cavity, the simulator needs to provide force/torque feedback in 5–6 degrees of freedom (DOF). LÄS MER

  2. 7. Effective development of haptic devices using a model-based and simulation-driven design approach

    Författare :Aftab Ahmad; Kjell Andersson; Damien Chablat; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Haptic device; model-based design; design optimization;

    Sammanfattning : Virtual reality (VR)-based surgical simulators using haptic devices can increase the effectiveness of surgical training for surgeons when performing surgical procedures in hard tissues such as bones or teeth milling. The realism of virtual surgery through a surgical simulator depends largely on the precision and reliability of the haptic device, which reflects the interaction with the virtual model. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Model-based design of haptic devices

    Författare :Ahmad Aftab; Kjell Andersson; Ulf Sellgren; Per Wennhage; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Haptic device; model-based design; stiffness; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Efficient engineering design and development of high precision and reliable surgical simulators, like haptic devices for surgical training benefits from model-based and simulation driven design. The complexity of the design space, multi-domains, multicriteria requirements and multi-physics character of the behavior of such a product ask for a model based systematic approach for creating and validating compact and computationally efficient simulation models to be used for the design process. 4. 9. Spaces for innovation

    Författare :Jennie Andersson Schaeffer; Yvonne Eriksson; Monica Bellgran; Bo Westerlund; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :Innovation and Design; innovation och design;

    Sammanfattning : Workspace design, as an enabling factor in innovation, is an emerging topic for innovation and design research. However, little research has been done on users’ experience on workspaces for innovation in a manufacturing industrial context. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Designing for technology-mediated collaboration

    Författare :Stefan Nilsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; technology-mediated collaboration; coordination; awareness; CSCW; shared workspace; grounding; social norms; design patterns;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the design of a synchronous shared workspace supporting technology-mediated collaboration. In order to collaborate, participants need to be able to coordinate the activity. And to coordinate an activity, they need be aware of others involved in the collaboration. LÄS MER
