16. Flexibility – a tool for chirality control in asymmetric catalysis
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the design and synthesis of ligands for asymmetric catalysis: palladium catalyzed allylic alkylations, and rho-dium and iridium catalyzed hydrogenations of olefins. Chirally flexible phosphepine ligands based on biphenyl were synthesized and their properties were studied. LÄS MER
17. Light-Triggered Conformational Switches for Modulation of Molecular Recognition : Applications for Peptidomimetics and Supramolecular Systems
Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis is on photochemical modulation of molecular recognition in various host-guest systems. This involves the design, synthesis and integration of light-triggered conformational switches into peptidomimetic guests and molecular tweezer hosts. LÄS MER
18. Modelling Charge Transport for Organic Solar Cells within Marcus Theory
Sammanfattning : With the technological advancement of modern society, electronic devices are getting progressively more integrated in our everyday lives. Their continuouslygrowing presence is generating numerous concerns about costs, efficiency and the environmental impact of the electronic waste. LÄS MER
19. Reversible Sulfur Reactions in Pre-Equilibrated and Catalytic Self-Screening Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry Protocols
Sammanfattning : Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry (DCC) is a recently introduced supramolecular approach to generate dynamically interchanging libraries of compounds. These libraries are made of different building blocks that reversibly interact with one another and spontaneously assemble to encompass all possible combinations. LÄS MER
20. Organic Azides : Functional Molecules and Materials
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis stems from the chemistry of the azido group, and more specifically from the unique reactivity of perfluorinated aromatic azides and how to use this reactivity to access new types of molecules to enable new applications in asymmetric synthesis and materials. In the first section of this thesis, a photoactivatable fluorescence probe is presented, where the non-luminescent azide was activated via a UV-light-promoted intramolecular N–H insertion reaction forming a fluorescence emitter.
