  1. 11. Strategies for exercise assessment and training in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

    Författare :Tania Janaudis-Ferreira; Karin Wadell; Margareta Emtner; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; COPD; exercise; assessment; muscle strength; arm function; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi; lungmedicin; Lung Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Rationale: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is not only a common lung disease but is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) helps optimize function and independence by increasing exercise capacity, reducing symptoms and improving health related quality of life (HRQL). LÄS MER

  2. 12. COPD in primary care : exploring conditions for implementation of evidence-based interventions and eHealth

    Författare :Sara Lundell; Karin Wadell; Börje Rehn; Åsa Holmner; Maria Wiklund; Lisa Skär; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; COPD; primary care; implementation; eHealth; qualitative; mixed methods; meta-analysis; KOL; primärvård; implementering; eHälsa; Kvalitativ; mixad metod; metaanalys; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major public health problem. Symptoms and comorbidities associated with COPD affect the whole body. Clinical guidelines for COPD recommend pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) including exercise training and education promoting self-management strategies. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Factors in secondary prevention subsequent to distal radius fracture : Focus on physical function, co-morbidity, bone mineral density and health-related quality of life

    Författare :Helena Nordvall; Jack Lysholm; Gunnevi Sundelin; Margareta Möller; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; distal radius fracture; bone mineral density BMD ; functional tests; mortality; morbidity; the SF-36; fall diary; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : In Sweden approximately 25000 distal radius fractures occur annually, which is 37 % of all fractures related to osteoporosis. In this thesis, risk factors for osteoporosis, bone mineral density (BMD) and health-related quality of life (the SF-36) were compared in patients who suffered a distal radius fracture after low energy trauma with a control group matched on the basis of age, gender, and municipality of residence. 4. 14. Seated postural reactions to mechanical shocks : laboratory studies with relevance for risk assessment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders among drivers

    Författare :Tobias Stenlund; Börje Rehn; Ronnie Lundström; Ola Lindroos; Fredrik Öhberg; Rolf Moe-Nilssen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Postural balance; Posture; Electromyography; Musculoskeletal pain; Whole-body vibration; Reliability; Kinematics; Biomechanics; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Professional drivers of off-road vehicles, driving on irregular terrain such as in forestry, agriculture and mining, are exposed to whole-body vibration and mechanical shocks. These driver groups have reported severe musculoskeletal problems in the spine, but the association to seated postural reactions is not fully understood. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Motor control of the knee : kinematic and EMG studies of healthy individuals and people with patellofemoral pain

    Författare :Ann-Katrin Stensdotter; Charlotte Häger-Ross; Gunnevi Sundelin; Gertjan Ettema; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kinematics; Kinetic chain tasks; Knee; Motor Control; Muscle activity; Patellofemoral pain; Unpredictable perturbations; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is believed to be associated with deficits in coordination between the different heads of the quadriceps muscle; however, considerable debate exists in the literature regarding the presence of such a deficit. Discrepancies between studies may be explained by differences in experimental tasks, such as whether the task is performed with open (OKC) or closed kinetic chain (CKC), or whether the activity is voluntary or triggered.
