  1. 1. Motor control of the knee : kinematic and EMG studies of healthy individuals and people with patellofemoral pain

    Författare :Ann-Katrin Stensdotter; Charlotte Häger-Ross; Gunnevi Sundelin; Gertjan Ettema; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kinematics; Kinetic chain tasks; Knee; Motor Control; Muscle activity; Patellofemoral pain; Unpredictable perturbations; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is believed to be associated with deficits in coordination between the different heads of the quadriceps muscle; however, considerable debate exists in the literature regarding the presence of such a deficit. Discrepancies between studies may be explained by differences in experimental tasks, such as whether the task is performed with open (OKC) or closed kinetic chain (CKC), or whether the activity is voluntary or triggered. 2. 2. Comparisons between classical and quantum mechanical nonlinear lattice models

    Författare :Peter Jason; Magnus Johansson; Jonas Larson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Discrete Breathers; Bose-Einstein-Condensation; Instabilities; Oscillatory Instabilities; Classical-Quantum correspondence; Bose-Hubbard model; DNLS; discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation; nonlinear; nonlinear lattice models; compacton;

    Sammanfattning : In the mid-1920s, the great Albert Einstein proposed that at extremely low temperatures, a gas of bosonic particles will enter a new phase where a large fraction of them occupy the same quantum state. This state would bring many of the peculiar features of quantum mechanics, previously reserved for small samples consisting only of a few atoms or molecules, up to a macroscopic scale. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Neuromechanical control of the spine

    Författare :Paul Hodges; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Control of the spine is complex. The spine is inherently unstable and dependent on the contribution of muscles. Yet there is considerable redundancy in the motor system with many muscles that act on the trunk. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dynamics of ecological communities in variable environments : local and spatial processes

    Författare :Linda Kaneryd; Bo Ebenman; Peter Münger; Michael S. Fowler; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The ecosystems of the world are currently facing a variety of anthropogenic perturbations, such as climate change, fragmentation and destruction of habitat, overexploitation of natural resources and invasions of alien species. How the ecosystems will be affected is not only dependent on the direct effects of the perturbations on individual species but also on the trophic structure and interaction patterns of the ecological community.
