  1. 1. Measuring with pressure sensitive paint in time-varying flows

    Författare :Markus Pastuhoff; Henrik Henrk Alfredsson; Ulrich Henne; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Pressure sensitive paint; fluid mechanics; internal flow; pulsating flow;

    Sammanfattning : Increasingly tougher legislation on internal combustion engine emissions drives the development towards smaller engines with higher efficiency where an important component is the gas-exchange system and especially the turbocharger. The flow in the gas-exchange system is inherently pulsating and unsteady and the present thesis aims at investigating if and how pressure sensitive paint (PSP) can be used for internal unsteady flows of relevance for engine applications. 2. 2. Laser-Induced Emission Techniques for Concentration and Temperature Probing in Combustion

    Författare :Gustaf Särner; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermographic phosphor; phosphor; phosphorescence; Laser Combustion Diagnostics; Laser-Spectroscopy; LIF; spectroscopy; Thermometry; LIP; Laser-Induced Fluorescence;

    Sammanfattning : The work in this thesis is aimed at the development of temperature and gas concentration measurement techniques in laser diagnostics for use in combustion research. The techniques are developed as tools for the combustion community to meet future demands on combustion efficiency and legislation of exhaust gases. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Assessment of cavitation erosion risk based on single-fluid simulation of cavitating flows

    Författare :Mohammad Hossein Arabnejad Khanouki; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Cavitation erosion is material loss due to the repetitive collapse of cavities near the surface. This phenomenon is one of the limiting factors in the design of high-performance marine propulsors as it restricts their reliability and increases their operational cost. LÄS MER
