21. Processing 2D nanomaterials into inorganic-polymer composite films and fibers with well-defined properties
Sammanfattning : 2D materials such as graphene, graphene oxide (GO), reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and MXene, possess unique properties, e.g., high carrier mobilities, mechanical flexibility, good thermal conductivity, and high optical and UV adsorption. LÄS MER
22. Flexible and Cellulose-based Organic Electronics
Sammanfattning : Organic electronics is the study of organic materials with electronic functionality and the applications of such materials. In the 1970s, the discovery that polymers can be made electrically conductive led to an explosion within this field which has continued to grow year by year. LÄS MER
23. Characterization of Surfaces Relevant to Nanotechnology
Sammanfattning : In this thesis investigations of the structure and dynamics of semiconductor surfaces relevant for the synthesis of nanostructures are presented. The studies were performed using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED), and Spectroscopic PhotoEmission and Low Energy Electron Microcopy (SPELEEM). LÄS MER
24. Kinetic and thermodynamic modelling of ternary nanowire growth
Sammanfattning : Among nanoscale structures of different shapes and dimensions nanowires are one of the most promising because of its truly unique properties different from their bulk counterparts. The energy quantization, perfect defect-free structure, and the possibility to grow them within the miscibility gap in combination with the benefits of bottom-up design and the possibility of integration on silicon substrates make nanowires ideal candidates for applications in optoelectronics, biotechnology and energy harvesting. 25. Synthesis and Characterization of Acceptor Polymers for All-Polymer Solar Cells and Photodetectors
Sammanfattning : The development of polymer semiconductors has become an important topic due to its advantages of low cost, easy fabrication, light weight, and capability to fabricate flexible large-area devices. For example, as the need for new clean energy sources is increasing, polymer solar cells (PSCs) are being developed rapidly and becoming a promising alternative to silicon solar cells. LÄS MER
