31. Weldability and Testing Methodology in Precipitation Hardening Superalloys
Sammanfattning : Usable weldability data is desired in the manufacturing industry, especially within the aerospace industry where fabrication of structural jet engine components are realized. Welding of precipitation hardening superalloys such as Waspaloy®, Alloy 718, ATI® 718Plus™ and Haynes® 282® in particular can lead to solidification cracking in the fusion zone, liquation cracking in the heat affected zone and/or to solid state cracking. 32. Nitride Thin Films for Thermoelectric Applications : Synthesis, Characterization and Theoretical Predictions
Sammanfattning : Thermoelectrics is the reversible process which transforms a temperature gradient across a material into an external voltage through a phenomenon known as the Seebeck effect. This has resulted in niche applications such as solid-state cooling for electronic and optoelectronic devices which exclude the need for a coolant or any moving parts and long-lasting, maintenance-free radioisotope thermoelectric generators used for deep-space exploration. 33. Thiol-ene and Thiol-ene-epoxy Based Polymers for Biomedical Microdevices
Sammanfattning : Within healthcare there is a market pull for biomedical devices that can rapidly perform laboratory processes, such as diagnostic testing, in a hand-held format. For this reason, biomedical devices must become smaller, more sophisticated, and easier to use for a reasonable cost. LÄS MER
34. Microstructure Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Haynes 282
Sammanfattning : Precipitation-hardened nickel-based superalloys find wide applications in aero engines and land-based gas turbines due to a combination of properties such as high temperature strength, resistance to oxidation and corrosion, fabricability, and creep strength. Structural engine components are traditionally cast to achieve higher degree of geometrical design freedom. LÄS MER
