  1. 1. Multidisciplinary Near-Surface Investigation of a Quick-Clay Landslide Prone Area in Southwest Sweden

    Författare :Silvia Salas Romero; Alireza Malehmir; Ian Snowball; Christopher Juhlin; Laura Valentina Socco; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quick-clay; reflection seismic; landslide; southwest Sweden; borehole logging; physico-chemical properties; hydrogeological modelling; multichannel analysis of surface waves; magnetics; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Quick-clay landslides are considered one of the most important geohazards in Sweden, Norway, and Canada. The deposits involved are glacial and postglacial clays and silty clays, which are very sensitive to increased stress that may collapse their structure and cause liquefaction. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Geophysical studies of the upper crust of the central Swedish Caledonides in relation to the COSC scientific drilling project

    Författare :Peter Hedin; Christopher Juhlin; Alireza Malehmir; Bjarne Almqvist; Charles Hurich; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; reflection seismic; collisional orogeny; Scandinavian Caledonides; COSC; scientific drilling; geophysical logging; gravity; magnetics; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The Collisional Orogeny in the Scandinavian Caledonides (COSC) project aims to provide a deeper understanding of mountain belt dynamics through scientific deep drilling in the central parts of the mountain belt of western Sweden. The main targets include a subduction related allochthon, the basal orogenic detachment and the underlying partially subducted Precambrian basement. LÄS MER

  4. 4. High Frequency (MHz) Planar Transformers for Next Generation Switch Mode Power Supplies

    Författare :Radhika Ambatipudi; Kent Bertilsson; Bengt Oelmann; Jesus Doval Gandoy; Hans-Peter Nee; Torbjörn Thiringer; Göran Thungström; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Planar Magnetics; DC-DC Converters; Switch Mode Power Supplies; MHz Frequency Region;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing the power density of power electronic converters while reducing or maintaining the same cost, offers a higher potential to meet the current trend inrelation to various power electronic applications. High power density converters can be achieved by increasing the switching frequency, due to which the bulkiest parts, such as transformer, inductors and the capacitor's size in the convertercircuit can be drastically reduced. Författare :Marloes Kortekaas; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; kartografi; klimatologi; Geofysik; fysisk oceanografi; physical oceanography; meteorology; Sedimentologi; Stratigrafi; Stratigraphy; Baltic Sea; geokemi; Petrologi; mineralogi; geochemistry; mineralogy; Petrology; greigite; mineral magnetics; sea-level changes; Holocene; Littorina transgression; geomorphology; pedology; cartography; climatology; meteorologi; Geophysics; Sedimentology; Optically Stimulated Luminescence OSL ; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; marklära; Physical geography;

    Sammanfattning : A new palaeoenvironmental record of the post-glacial history of the southern Baltic Sea (~14 ka to present) is presented. During this period, large water level and salinity changes occurred in the Baltic Basin due to opening and closing of connections to the North Atlantic. LÄS MER
