  1. 21. Targeted disruption and subcellular distribution of phospholipase C 3

    Författare :Shu Wang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; Phosphoinositide specific phospholipase C; sequencing; fluorescence in situ hybridization; gene targeting; earlyembryonic development; electron microscopy; secretory granules; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Internal Medicine; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Phosphatidylinositol specific phospholipase C (PLC) isoforms are key enzymes in the signal transduction pathway that control many cellular processes including cell proliferation, hormone secretion and egg fertilization. The PLCβ3 gene, assigned to the multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) locus, has been implicated in endocrine tumorigenesis due to the low expression in several endocrine tumors. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Molecular aspects of parathyroid tumorigenesis : with focus on parafibromin and the Wnt pathway

    Författare :Christofer Juhlin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) denotes the tumorous enlargement of one or several parathyroid glands and constitutes a common disorder, particularly pronounced among postmenopausal women. PHPT patients display hypercalcemia as a consequence of parathyroid hormone hypersecretion, and the symptomatology is habitually based on this metabolic aberrancy. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Genetic characterization of adrenocortical tumors

    Författare :Magnus Kjellman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Adrenocortical tumors; Comparative genomic hybridization; mutation analyzes; in situ hybridization; loss of heterozygosity; MEN 1;

    Sammanfattning : Adrenocortical cancer is a rare tumor form. However, adrenal tumors are today often found incidentally when using imaging techniques on the upper abdomen and should then be investigated. With the advance in molecular understanding of cancer new approaches to manage the disease may become available. LÄS MER
