  1. 1. Targeted disruption and subcellular distribution of phospholipase C 3

    Författare :Shu Wang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; Phosphoinositide specific phospholipase C; sequencing; fluorescence in situ hybridization; gene targeting; earlyembryonic development; electron microscopy; secretory granules; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Internal Medicine; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Phosphatidylinositol specific phospholipase C (PLC) isoforms are key enzymes in the signal transduction pathway that control many cellular processes including cell proliferation, hormone secretion and egg fertilization. The PLCβ3 gene, assigned to the multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) locus, has been implicated in endocrine tumorigenesis due to the low expression in several endocrine tumors. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Signal transduction in the brain : modulation of receptor-mediated inositol phospholipid breakdown by potassium and fluoride ions

    Författare :Gunnar Tiger; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Inositol phospholipid breakdown; muscarinic receptors; potassium; fluoride; rat brain; pig brain;

    Sammanfattning : Neurotransmitter receptor types mediating the generation of intracellular signals are of two types; ligand-gated ion channels and G protein coupled receptors. The effector enzyme phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC) is modulated by stimulation of G protein coupled receptors, leading to an increased breakdown of inositol phospholipids ("Ptdlns breakdown"). 3. 3. Apolipoprotein E and Alzheimer's diseases : signals and effects

    Författare :Ángel Cedazo-Minguez; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is the most frequent cause of dementia in the elderly. A diagnosis of AD is confirmed post-mortem by the accumulation of neuritic plaques (NP) and neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) in brain tissue. LÄS MER
