26. Phosphor Thermometry on Surfaces - A Study of its Methodology and its Practical Applications
Sammanfattning : Phosphor Thermometry is a term describing an optical measurement technique for remote temperature sensing. Its working principle is based on the temperature-sensitive emission characteristics of certain ceramic substances termed thermographic phosphors. LÄS MER
27. Physiological aspects of cochlear excitation and neurotransmitter release
Sammanfattning : Using an in vitro model of the guinea pig, the temporal bone preparation, cochlear physiology was studied. By perfusion of the scala tympani with oxygenated culture medium, the responses of the hearing organ to sound stimuli were maintained over several hours and the functional state was followed by monitoring the electrophysiological parameters cochlear microphonics (CM) and summating potential (SP). 28. A Play of Light and Spins: Excitation and Detection of Non-linear Magnetization Dynamics using Light
Sammanfattning : The excitation and detection of magnetization dynamics play key roles in the field of spintronics and magnonics. In this thesis, we investigate a contactless method of exciting nonlinear magnetization dynamics using a femtosecond pulsed laser, and study the same with a Brillouin Light Scattering (BLS) microscope. 29. Laser Scanning Multiphoton Microscopy – Focusing on Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy and Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging for Biomedical Applications
Sammanfattning : Laser scanning multiphoton microscopy (MPM) is considered as a non-invasive technology for three-dimensional imaging of complex biological tissues. The quantitative potential of the MPM is not investigated as much as qualitative imaging. LÄS MER
30. Low Frequency Acoustic Excitation and Laser Sensing of Vibration as a Tool for Remote Characterization of Thin Sheets
Sammanfattning : There is a need to monitor the existence and effects of damage in structural materials. Bulk components provide a much publicized example, but the need exists in a variety of other structures, such as layered materials used in food packaging industries. LÄS MER
