  1. 6. Amine oxidases in dental pulp : a study with special regard to a semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase with catalytic potency towards serotonin

    Författare :Astrid Norqvist-Sjöberg; Lars Oreland; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The amine oxidizing capacity of piglet dental pulp tissue has been investigated. At least six separate enzyme activities could be distinguished:- a soluble semicarbazide-sensitive (SSAO) activity towards benzylamine, most likely to be derived from the content of blood plasma within the pulp tissue;- a soluble pulp tissue SSAO activity with most properties in common with the plasma enzyme, however with great efficiency not only regarding benzylamine but also tryptamine;- a tissue bound SSAO activity with activity towards benzylamine, tryptamine, tyramine and ß-phenylethylamine;- a tissue bound semicarbazide-sensitive activity towards serotonin (SSA0-5HT) (a combination of properties never reported before);- a mitochondrially bound and clorgyline-sensitive monoamine oxidase-A (MAO-A) activity with activity towards serotonin;- a mitochondrially bound and deprenyl-sensitive MAO-B activity with activity towards e. 2. 7. Modernitet i det traditionella : kulturbyggen och gränser inom ett nordsvenskt område

    Författare :Lars Olov Sjöström; Kurt Genrup; Alf Arvidsson; Solveig Sjöberg-Pietarinen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; basal and variable modernity; local collectivity; identity; cultural boundaries; bourgeois society; banquets; symbolic capital; Ethnology; Etnologi;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis examines how modernisation affects and is affected by existing local culture and identity. It is about the relation between the social and mental barriers experienced, expressed and manifested in the social culture of local community, and modernisation’s dynamic powers over time. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Regional Geoid Determination Methods for the Era of Satellite Gravimetry : Numerical Investigations Using Synthetic Earth Gravity Models

    Författare :Jonas Ågren; Lars E. Sjöberg; Zdenek Martince; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; geoid determination; GOCE; synthetic earth gravity models; kernel modification; downward continuation; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : It is the purpose of this thesis to investigate different regional geoid determination methods with respect to their feasibility for use with a future GOCE satellite-only Earth Gravity Model (EGM). This includes investigations of various techniques, which involve different approximations, as well as the expected accuracy. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Recovering Moho parameters using gravimetric and seismic data

    Författare :Majid Abrehdary; Lars E. Sjöberg; Mohammad Bagherbandi; Pavel Novák; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :crust; gravity; mantle; Moho depth; non-isostatic effect; residual isostatic topography; stripping; thermal state; Vening Meinesz-Moritz model; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Isostasy is a key concept in geoscience to interpret the state of mass balance between the Earth’s crust and mantle. There are four well-known isostatic models: the classical models of Airy/Heiskanen (A/H), Pratt/Hayford (P/H), and Vening Meinesz (VM) and the modern model of Vening Meinesz-Moritz (VMM). LÄS MER

  5. 10. On Optimisation and Design of Geodetic Networks

    Författare :Mohammad Amin Alizadeh Khameneh; Mehdi Eshagh; Lars E. Sjöberg; Stig-Göran Mårtensson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Optimisation of a geodetic network is performed to provide its pre-set quality requirements. Today, this procedure is almost run with the aid of developed analytical approaches, where the human intervention in the process cycle is limited to defining the criteria. LÄS MER
