21. Intralymphatic Immunotherapy : A Novel Route to Ameliorate Allergic Rhinitis Due to Pollen
Sammanfattning : Allergy to pollen and animal dander is a major public health problem. Close to 30% of the population have symptoms from the upper and/or lower respiratory tract when they meet fur animals or pollen. LÄS MER
22. On measurement and monitoring of reactivity in subcritical reactor systems
Sammanfattning : Accelerator-driven systems have been proposed for incineration of transuranic elements from spent nuclear fuel. For safe operation of such facilities, a robust method for reactivity monitoring is required. Experience has shown that the performance of reactivity measurement methods in terms of accuracy and applicability is highly system dependent. LÄS MER
23. Interaction Studies in Complex Fluids with Optical Biosensors
Sammanfattning : In this thesis interactions in complex fluids, such as serum and meat juice, were analysed with optical biosensor techniques.Panels of lectins immobilised on gold surfaces were used for investigation of differences in protein glycosylation pattern in sera and meat juices between various species. 24. Multiscale modeling of nitride fuels
Sammanfattning : Nitride fuels have always been considered a good candidate for GENIV reactors, as well as space reactors, due to their high fissile density, highthermal conductivity and high melting point. In these concepts, not beingcompatible with water is not a significant problem. LÄS MER
25. Development of Encapsulated UN-UO₂ Accident Tolerant Fuel
Sammanfattning : Accident tolerant fuels (ATFs) are designed to endure a severe accident in the reactor core longer than the standard UO2-Zr alloy systems used in light water reactors (LWRs). Composite fuels such as UN-UO2 are being considered as an ATF concept to address the lower oxidation resistance of the UN fuel from a safety perspective for use in LWRs, whilst improving the in-reactor behaviour of the UO2 fuel.
