1. Interaction Studies in Complex Fluids with Optical Biosensors
Sammanfattning : In this thesis interactions in complex fluids, such as serum and meat juice, were analysed with optical biosensor techniques.Panels of lectins immobilised on gold surfaces were used for investigation of differences in protein glycosylation pattern in sera and meat juices between various species. 2. On Crack Dynamics in Brittle Heterogeneous Materials
Sammanfattning : Natural variation, sub-structural features, heterogeneity and porosity make fracture modelling of wood and many other heterogeneous and cellular materials challenging. In this thesis, fracture in such complicated materials is simulated using phase field methods for fracture. LÄS MER
3. Surface analytical methods and multivariate data analysis applied to lectin panels
Sammanfattning : In this thesis lectin panels on gold wafers were utilized to investigate sera from different mammals and meat juices from various species of animals. Lectins, which are a group of diverse, natural proteins recognize and bind to different carbohydrate structures present on the sera proteins and on the proteins in the different meat juices. LÄS MER
4. Den nya stadens bibliotek : Om teknik, förnuft och känsla i gestaltningen av kunskaps- och upplevelsestadens folkbibliotek
Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores how perceived challenges and changing conditions for public libraries are translated and enacted in a local library setting. In 2008, Malmoe City Library, a public library situated in the third largest city of Sweden, initiated an ambitious strategy for renewal and change of their services. LÄS MER
5. Studies on Growth of SiC and BN : from Theory and Experiments
Sammanfattning : Smaller cellular telephones and more energy-efficient windows are just two examples of technological advances which call for new materials. Materials chemists seek to develop new materials, both out of pure curiosity to see which combination of elements and structures can be obtained and in efforts to produce materials, with specific properties.
